This year about 10,000 condoms were initially distributed among the 2900 athletes at the 2026 Winter Games. In three days those 10,000 rubbers were depleted due to higher than anticipated demand; and were quickly restocked.
Some obviously were used. Some certainly were taken for future use. Some surely were taken for souvenirs because they often featured special branding, though not always the official 5-ring symbol directly on the wrapper, due to strict intellectual property rules.
Instead, they typically featured the specific Games mascot. logo, or thematic slogans promoting consent and safety/ By the way, the mascots were Tina and Milo, a pair of anthropomorphic stoats, a type of weasel, designed by Italian schoolchildren.
